And unfortunately there was one that was positive. Sadie does have a mild reflux to her kidneys. We have to take her to see a urologist to further treat her reflux. Typically a mild case can be outgrown but she will probably need to be on a mild antibiotic for the longterm until she outgrows it. Reflux is only an issue when there is a bacteria in the bladder that causes an infection that goes into the kidney which can cause scarring. So they treat the bladder infections or provide antibiotics to stop them from starting which then protects the kidneys from bacteria. Since she has a mild case they may not require that but we will see after our appt.

the good news is the renal ultrasound was negative so there is no current scarring in the kidney. phew.

Wow, i have never heard of kidney reflux. But I just read some things online about it, and it sounds like she'll outgrow it, right? I'll be anxious to hear how the appointment with the urologist goes - and the Haacks will be in our prayers!

the chances are good she will outgrow it as it is mild. I will see you on Saturday but not sure if I am bringing Sadie or not. can't wait to see you!
