Well by four days Elise was already back to her birthweight. She had only lost 3 ounces in the hospital. We started out breastfeeding. Apparently I got my milk in pretty quickly for her to only lose a few ounces. Alas, great things are not always meant to be...after a pretty stressful, extremely painful week, including a mastitis infection after about four days, I made the decision to stop breastfeeding. It wasn't easy by any means; just ask B or Grandma Sharon! However the decision was made. Similar to issues with Sadie two years ago, this time around I decided pumping for six months was not for me. Especially with having to move in a few weeks. Elise transitioned to formula like a champ. She seemed a little surprised at the bottle but once she tried it and realized it was food, she was game. She sleeps in three hour increments with the occasional four hour one. Last night was the first time she finally got the four hour increment nap in during the night. woo hoo Lise. Mommy and daddy appreciate that one!
Sadie at the same time has had yet another growth spurt. All of a sudden her clothes aren't fitting her. On Sunday I ran out to Target to get a few outfits to tide her over until I could order or shop for more. Suddently she is in a 3T and her shoes don't fit! My goodness but those growth spurts happen over night! yesteray I did manage a trip to Carters for a few more outfits but now I have to figure out her new shoe size. Looks like shopping for us this weekend!
