Saturday

Saturday was such a busy day that I declared today (sunday) to be a jammy day! so far so good. :)

Anywho, here is the recap of Saturday

woke up at 6:15 with the Sadie meister. played for awhile, fed her, then passed her off to daddy so I could go volunteer.

I volunteered with The Glass Slipper Project. [The Glass Slipper Project collects new and almost-new formal dresses and accessories and provides them, free of charge, to Chicago high school students who are unable to purchase their own prom attire.] Its awesome; to see the girls faces light up when they put on the perfect dress was truly a unique experience. At the same time, it was very sad to see the sheer number of pregnant teens. I was astounded. Maybe it was just the room I was in as there seemed to be at least one in there the whole time. As a new mom myself I couldn't believe these young girls were about to go through that. It saddened me. On one side seeing the joy on their faces was so uplifting. on the other side, seeing the one girl who was due this week trying to find a dress to wear after she delivers to her prom in a few weeks....well that's all I can say.

Then I ran home to pick up Sadie, hubby and dog so we could leave for the open house. We ate chipotle, ran to costco (again) then finally made it home. we all crashed for a nap, then realized we were late for our Cinco De Mayo party in the burbs (thanks Jessica and Tirtha). we got there late but had a great time. Sadie was playing like a mofo. Nikhail has toys a go go that Sadie just loved. I think it may have convinced B to let me get Sadie a walker toy. She positively LOVED it. She may need some help steering as there were many toes injured in her journey but everyone was a good sport. We made it home around 10:30 (of course Sadie was OUT during the car ride home). Gave her bottle, put her down for night night, then I promptly passed out on the couch.

Now you know why today is a jammy day. :)
