Elise Two Week Checkup

It is well known that Bryan and I like to eat. Sadie joined our ranks quickly herself after birth. Elise is following along in all our foot steps. As of today, at her two week appointment, Elise weighed in at 7lbs 14.5 oz almost a whole lb heavier than her birth weight. That's my girl! She was 20.5 inches long so she is also getting taller from her 19inch birth length. They don't start putting percentiles until later I think but pretty sure Elise is going to be in the higher end like her big sister.

Elise is still eating every three hours with the occasional four hour stint. Unfortunately the four hour stints don't usually coincide with nighttime. Hopefully soon if she keeps up her great eating habits she will start sleeping in longer increments. The doctor said let her sleep as long as she wants since she is doing so great eating/weight gain wise.

The doctor did make me nervous though. She said to try to keep Sadie from kissing Elise or make sure she washes her hands etc for the first two months. I knew to have Sadie wash her hands etc and am fully aware of the germ presence she may have from daycare. What i didn't know was that it was for two whole months. Doc said for the first two months if Elise gets sick it will probably mean an overnight hospital stay. Knowing what some of our friends/family have gone through it just made me more nervous to have Sadie help with Elise at all. New moms are new moms regardless of if its your first or second baby.

On happier news, Sadie turns 2 tomorrow. I can't even believe it. I went to Target today to get her a present and came home with 6. How does one decide i ask you? As I mentioned before we plan to have her party in a few weeks so I got enough toys to have gifts for tomorrow and for the party. More to move but who will have time to shop with two kids and moving. now to decide what to give her tomorrow. Tonight I wrap presents and make cupcakes. We have been telling her its her birthday tomorrow so she has been practicing her singing. She asked for her birthday to be pink. Not sure what that means but I will do my best!
